Collection X Stealing The Jewelry of Celebrity Ex-Wives By:

Like all of Troy Stratos' promotional ideas, it sounded
good. Just as famous celebrities have lines of clothing and perfume,
Stratos proposed to put together a line of jewelry patterned after
the personal jewelry of celebrity ex-wives to be called, appropriately
enough, "COLLECTION X."
According to his pitch, Stratos represented this as
a presentation of, "the priceless beauty of celebrated
superstar women and the unparalleled elegance of their timeless
jewelry--COLLECTION X, the perfect melding of design and prestige,"
further describing the pieces as a, "collection
of fine diamonds, sapphires, emeralds and rubies . . . one-of-a-kind
pieces melded with the legacies of the star-crossed lovers who inspired
them."
In wooing the women he sought to exploit, he defined them as,
“Exceptional,” “elusive,” “admired,”
. . . a rare sorority of women . . . the ultimate in refinement
and determination, having survived the peril of high-powered divorce
and unpredictable fame to emerge as role models of class. Each is
distinguished by her own sense of style, yet all share a common
passion for life, love and fashion. From Dame Elizabeth Taylor to
Barbra Streisand, Julia Roberts to Raquel Welch, Jennifer Aniston
to Angelina Jolie, all inspire an incomparable illusion, designed
and coordinated . . . to reawaken romance, desire and sophistication."
He claimed that, "While it is certain that the
Collection will ever-evolve, one thing will never change -- dedication
to presenting the finest stones in the finest settings offered through
the most exceptional stores in the world."
At this point, celebrity jewelry, valued at something in excess
of three million dollars ($3,000,000), has disappeared; the best
information available to us at this time is that he may have pawned
it for $300,000.
Stratos is not cooperating.
